Watching a recording while it is in progress is working fine for me
- the length counter is correctly updating
- If "Resume live TV when finished" is enabled in the Media Player settings, then live TV is resumed (though it returns to the live program that you were watching when you started the playback, not necessarily the channel for recording you were watching).

So are you just concerned that resume is not occuring if the "resume live TV" option is unchecked?

Unless I'm completely misunderstanding you, can you please consider editing the title of the bug, else you are giving other readers the wrong impression that the chase play capability is completely broken (which, as far as I can tell anyway, isnt the case).

OK
I'll clarify a little... but for me chasing live TV does not work.

The problem for me seems to be that the length counter does not correctly update. As a result, when playback catches the "length marker" it is no longer possible to chase live TV using Fast Forward.

Note that this only affects recordings accessed via the TV Recordings list, NOT recordings initiated by pressing [PAUSE] on the remote.

Yes, odd this

I can 'chase' at FF>>x16 upto some point in the file (as you say this is probable the point at which the media player was started) then it will pause. However, if I repeated press FF I can get it to chase at x2, x4,x8 etc. upto someting like real time when it will pause again, I can then press play. However, it doesn't seem all that reliable Sad

Thanks Bill. I'm glad it's not just me. I've also noticed that it will just about work if you use ffx2.
I also find that if you frx16 to the beginning of the recording this can on occasionaly cause the media player instance to lock up. Sad

OBF or DVD format recording?
Bill

OBF in my case, Richard.
HyperReality

Umm. That's what I was using.

Ok, does the behaviour change with different channels? Maybe it is something that is channel specific.

I'm seeing the exact same issue and it was the same in v3.5.21.

I can have a scheduled recording that has begun and been recording for while, I decide to start watching it from the beginning using DigiTV media player and if I move my mouse to the top of the screen to see the progess bar it shows how much has been recorded to that point (from when I hit play). If I just watch and let some time go by and then fast forward to that 'end' point, the picture will continue to play but I can't fast forward from there on (even though more has subsequently been recorded) and the bar does not update to show that there is now more of the scheduled recording available.

OBF here also.
I shall try a few experiments today and see if I can pin this down to a particular setting.
