Is my card going?

Sorry Jimboo,

The lack of paragraphs in your post made me assume it was spam at first glance, and so I accidently deleted it Embarassed

hi I know nebula are just about finished service wise but I wonder if anybody knows these symptoms and can tell me if my card is going, first of all I have 2 nebula cards(different rooms/aerials) both worked great but I noticed recently pixallation all of a sudden on one of them, since I love tennis I record off the 301/302 channels mostly, running videoredo I hardly get any errors until recently but still not that many on card A as I shall call it,ok I decided to buy a new wideband aerial thinking it maybe that, but the card won't find channels unless a aerial booster is used(well it will find them but its unwatchable),the picture looks good with the booster and says bbc1 signal is 80% strength, the thing is I have a blackgold dvb card in another computer in the same room and that gets a perfect picture and all the channels without using the booster,so why does the nebula card need the booster and the blackgold does not and is this a sign it may be going? BTW its the older type card with a p4 2.8 with a intel chipset, thanks for any feedback.

It may be PSU interference that's affecting the Nebula/P4 PC. Have you considered swapping the cards as a test?

wow sorry bill I forgot to put my comma's and full stops in,I hope nobody tried to read it without stopping for air Embarassed anyways the card has been fantastic, then all of a sudden during the french open tennis on channel 301 I had pixellation,ok I know these can be dodgy at times on interactive but never with this card,I assumed a new high gain aerial might fix it(not believing it could be the card)the card then got quickly worse not holding channels and needing a mains booster at full gain,I have taken the card out and stuck a hauppauge nova t dvb card in and reception etc is superb without any aerial mains booster,I also stuck the nebula card in another pc and its still not working without a booster on full gain, any other pc component and I would have dumped and replaced but this is a really good tv card,I would love another but the lack of support and no new drivers, plus even at ebay there still going for £50,means I cannot really consider it,anyways back to the original question,or maybe to ask another whats the symptoms when they do finally go?and why does it need a signal booster cranked full up when the other cards don't even need a one, guess I know the card is on its way out but I just don't want to admit it.

oh BTW bill I know I mentioned I have anothe nebula card (upstairs with a different aerial),and is that the one you mean swap it with? I'm loathe to touch a pc and card that is working great so I won't swap that, the picture/recording are flawless on that one as was the now dodgy? one.

Even after someone told you. You still avoided using fullstops and paragraphs.

posting the way you do makes it less likely that someone will sit and read your problem. the way you posted it makes it quite hard to read. i know i certainly gave up after the first line, it was just too tiresome to read.

plenty people will help you here, but please make it easier for us to help you.

grammar may sound petty to you, but we don't sit on here 24 hours a day waiting for someone to post. sometimes people only have 5 minutes to spare to try and help, and those 5 minutes are going to be used when it is easy to read what the problem is.

Laughing This is a funny thread.

Chenks is 100% right. Some of us DigiTV users drift pass this forum from time to time, and try and help.

but your post is so unreadable that we skim on to something else instead.

It is then very funny that you then start attacking the guy who explains why you are not getting any answers. Personally I don't care about pefect punctuation - but at least hit that Enter key now and then so there is more chance of us making sense of your question.

Errr - and Good Luck Smile
