My DigiTV (any version) has diedHi all,
I recently started a re-tune on my (working) digiTV v3.7.0.6 by accident. I right clicked and then left clicked by mistake over the "re-tune" option.... D'oh.
I tried cancelling it mid-re-tune but the listing had already been wiped. To get back all the required channels I did the swap to use v3.7.14 to do the re-scan, but now everytime I open up DigiTV it goes to the "Tuning Menu" screen and freezes.
I've tried complete re-installs, uninstalls and complete installs, and everything else I can think of but it just no longer responds when I open it. Everytime it just goes to the Tuning Menu screen and freezes.
I'm running Windows XP professional, 32bit. Any ideas how I can get the application working again?
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried unplugging the device (if it's usb) ?
Mine did that a few times and starting the application with it unplugged usually sorts it out.

yeah, i tried that. I've now managed to get the software working, through clearing the registry and deleting all old drivers, but the hardware is now no longer recognised by my computer.
I'm using the external USB card and When I plug in the USB into the computer it says "Device not recognized"... If i try to force the location of the install drivers it says the drivers contain no information about my hardware.
It goes from bad to worse :\
Any ideas again? Thanks for any help...

Ok, back to the first problem again now. Finally got the device recognized by unplugging and plugging back in over and over again. But once again, the second I open the DigiTV app with the device plugged in it will attempt the auto-tune, go through one 8MHz bandwidth, and then freeze.

Have you tried plugging it into another USB port? And if you've the option, another computer.

One thing to try is XP System Restore (presuming you have it enabled).
If you go back to before your retune attempt you may find System Restore cures your ills. Worth a try...and it's a safe method too (you can always leave the restore point behind if it doesn't work).
Make sure you have everything plugged in the way it was (original USB port) to increase the odds of success.
Good luck.
