Has anyone had any problems recording to a NAS (Mine's an Altos easyStore). Playback is very jerky although mpg files recorded on a local disk and transferred to the NAS are fine. Network connectivity is 1Gb

Are you saying that playback is OK, but Playback while recording is jerky?

Or, is the file recorded onto the NAS jerky when played back?

Not all gigibit networking boxes (routers, switches etc.) can handle packets a sustained rate that matches their 'gigabit' badge. (The NAS box itself may also be bhaving problems)

Try switching off 'jumbo frames' (if used)

Thanks for your response. The jerkyness only occurred on recordings made to my new NAS. (The Recorded file would not play correctly even if copied back to a local disk)
But.. I've just ticked the "DVD authoring tool compatible" box in Recording Setting Tab
and the problem has gone.
I couldn't find the jumbo frame settings
