Series Timers are setting duplicate recordingsI'm using Series Timers to automatically set timers for a few program names.
Some of the timers are duplicated, but the time is a bit different.
For example, DigiTV has set two overlapping timers for The Letterman Show tonight:
TEN Digital, 02-08-2008, 00:40am -> 1:30am
TEN Digital, 02-08-2008, 00:41am -> 1:38am
Both these timers cause DigiTV to make two Recording Activities and record two copies of the same program simultaneously, and my HDD space gets blasted.
I thought it was because Ten-HD may be playing the program side by side with SD, so I deleted the HD channels... but it still happens. Plus if it was the HD stream causing it, surely one of the channel names would be "TEN HD" instead of TEN Digital.
This also happens with Everybody loves Raymond on the same channel.
Now, it appears that only channel 10 is affected. I have another series recording on Channel 7, and that doesn't duplicate.
So is it a problem with channel 10?

Duplicate timersI have recently had the same problem in the UK. Had it before too. I think a timer gets sets from the EPG and then when the EPG is next refreshed a slightly different time is read and asecond recording is scheduled. Guess work though. If you delete the series link and a little later restoreit the problem should go away - till the next time.
cheers

That would explain it, thanks
I deleted all the channels from the registry and re-tuned, so far there have been no duplicates. *touch wood*

I get it all the time in Sydney, using ICETV as my 7day feed.
Most recent was 3 instances of CSI to be recorded - two with the same time, but different names (due to EIT and ICETV differences), and a third with a different time (changes in EIT)
Apparently TEN have been playing about with 'more accurate' EPG entries similar to ABC1.

Guys
Doubtless this is O/T but.....while a long term fan and supporter of DigiTV, and I still use it, I've migrated my Nebula devices bar one to operate under Bluebit's Webscheduler Pro. I use IceTV for EPG and haven't looked back as WS is extremely reliable for me in Sydney.
For under $30 it has been of value, and just uses the Neb BDA drivers.

How come you are using an external EPG?
The 7-day EPG data is now transmitted over the airwaves with no internet connection needed.
Another big problem are series timers that come back after you manually delete them.
The Letterman show was to be aired at 11:30, I deleted the timer at 10:00, it came back at 10:05. I deleted it again and again, but it kept on coming back. Its impossible not to record the show unless you manually stop it during the show. But even then, sometimes DigiTV starts the recording moments later lol[/i]

I prefer it as to date it is reliable, and SBS is covered as well. Not so OTA last I checked

I have this problem and it wouldn't be so bad except it records something on every night at about 1am.
How do I manually delete the series link? (Help doesn't seem to work and programmes at a glance has given up the ghost also)

There seems to be difference in behaviour between the On screen Nebula style EPG accessed via "F1" and the Windows style EPG accessed from the menu bar
I have found that key sequence F1-5-2 for series links and F1-5-3 for event links occasionally gives different details to those at EPG-7 day guide-Timers.
