Only noticed last night, and don't know if it's a bug with the software or if it's the way things are broadcast, but switching to a Topup TV channel (eg UKTV Gold) and activate subtitles - they show up - which surprised me as I thought the whole stream would be encoded.

the MHEG part won't be encoded.. which is where the subtitles come from.
