Workaround for DigiTV crash on disc insertHi,
This is probably very simple and obvious, but I found it useful so thought I'd post.
3.7.14 crashes on disc insertion, and disabling autoplay at the drive level doesn't seem to help here. However, if you disable autoplay at a device driver level, the crashes no longer occur (although you do, of course, lose autoplay - no bad thing IMHO!)
To do this you need to (very carefully) edit the registry. Go into the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom, then set the AutoRun value to 0. (This is a DWORD value if you have to create it.)
Then reboot, and those crashes should be a thing of the past.
Hope this helps,
Liam

Re: Workaround for DigiTV crash on disc insertWell done Liam,
Yes it was simple but not always obvious for people who don't dabble with regedit, especially a novice like myself. I never liked autorun anyway.
For those not familiar with the procedure just double click blue icon"AutoRun", small box appears, then change the "Value data" 1 to a 0(zero). Click OK. Close window. Restart System.
A simple solution to a nagging problem.
Many thanks Liam.

or why not do it the easy way ? (for XP)
Open Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows + "e" key.
Right-click the desired CD-ROM and select Properties from the menu.
Select the AutoPlay tab.
Select each item from the pulldown list and for the Action to perform, select "Take no action" to disable autorun, or pick the apporpriate action to take if enabling autorun.
Select OK.

I tried that originally, but it didn't seem to fix the crash.

So did I.
It stops "Autoplay" for CD Rom and USBs but oddly not for this Bug.
Tweak UI is useful but limited.
Anyway, it's like having control of DigiTV back now!
Cheers!
