Series record for DigiTV is a bit dodgy as it will pick up everything on the channel with that name. The only thing i ever record from radio is Fighting Talk but that's not on at the moment.

What i tend to do is set most of my recordings manually for the week at the beginning of the week, may be a bit of a pain but it's the most reliable method for me.
I seem to be talking to myself - first sign of madness?

I still don't know what had happened but something seemed to mess up these timings. All I know is that a complete re-install of DigiTV and re-tune (with version .14 and then replace the .14 exe file with the .05 exe file) seems to have solved the problem!

On another note - I do find setting the Proms to record from Radio 3 on Series record is a pain. If you search the EPG for Proms and select Proms 2010, the DigiTV will set timers for all the first parts of the two part concerts and annoyingly, most but not all, of the second parts. I then find that doing another search and selecting Proms 2010, Part 2 will then set timers for the second parts. But what is odd is that you have set the series recording for Part 2 first and the Proms 2010 second, otherwise the settings will not "take". Blimey, this is complicated to explain. Oh why do I bother? At least it will finally work.

I think I will go back to sleep....... ah, bliss......
I am so pleased to have discovered this solution. I have been getting this CHKDSK problem for months. It also seems to have cured a problem with very slow start up of Outlook 2007.

If you have a PCI card, check the following keys in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NebAudio (and NebVideo)

If there are values: DebugLevel and/or LogLevel - then either remove them (and them only!) or set their values both to 0, then reboot.

I can't see why the drivers writing to a log file would stop chkdsk from running, but it is something to consider.

FANTASTIC!! I can't thank you enough for this HR

For literally YEARS I wondered why my old PC wouldn't run CHKDSK C: on reboot and had to resort to firing up the Recovery Console every so often to fix any disk errors.

I built this new PC last weekend, transferring the hard drives from my old PC, and still had the problem - backing up my suspicions that it was a driver/software issue. It was only when I put my previous hard drives back in my old PC in preparation for handing it on to my brother, that the CHKDSK worked on reboot! The only physical difference was that I'd taken out my DigiTV card to put in my new PC

Earlier today I confirmed it was the PCI card causing the problem as I removed it from this PC and CHKDSK worked again! Installed it again and CHKDSK didn't run

Then I saw this thread and your solution has worked perfectly!

Of course this also means I can again run other boot-time jobs like Diskeeper, which is a real bonus!

I also had bad picture breakup every minute or so after building this new PC when using the PCI card and your(?) tip about uninstalling the Cool 'n' Quiet processor drivers worked a treat too - perfect picture again now

Thanks again
Steven
General Problems/Issues :: Recording times out by 20 minutes

Subject: Recording times out by 20 minutes
Posted: Sat Jul 24, 2010 4:29 pm (GMT 0)

I am running the Nebula USB external box, tuned channels recently using version .14 and then copied back version .05 of the DigiTV software. The PC runs XP Professional SP3 and the PC clock is synchronised to a time server and is always accurate and correct time.

I have been using series record for the Proms on BBC Radio 3. Most of the concerts have started exactly 20 minutes after the start! Very annoying. The length is right but obviously goes 20 minutes beyond the end of the desired broadcast.

The strange thing is that recording video of single concerts on BBC4 has started exactly on time and finished on time too. Why is Radio 3 so affected?

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is it a software issue or BBC transmission problem?

I have just re-installed all the software, including deleting all registry entries before the re-install. I hope this sorts it out.

Luckily I know can record the radio concerts on Humax Freesat PVR. This is a pain compared with the DigiTV recordings as you have to convert the .ts files to something playable/editable on a PC. I use VLCPlayer to play or convert them. I would prefer to get my DigiTV back to recording ON TIME!
Posted: Fri Jul 16, 2010 4:24 pm (GMT 0)

Hi there. I've got a DigiTV remote lying around that I've never been able to use, since the card I had didn't have an infrared receiver, and I never got around to buying one.

I've tried a couple of times to sell the remote on ebay, but haven't been able to get any bids.

If anyone's interested, feel free to make me an offer, even it's just a few dollars (plus postage from Western Australia).
