maxxx,
If you'd like me to host a mirror of the download here then PM me and I'll pop it on the server.

I have sent a copy of the site to Craig who has kindly offered to host it while I sort out my own hosting problems.
Cheers |

|
|
Maxx, or Bill, or any that know,
Is it a problem I have a password to login to my computer when rebooting up?
I am thinking about the option to ask digiTV Timer to re-boot the computer, mine is one of those that on waking up from hibernate fails to re start DigiTV. I have master & Slave USB units
Cheers

1. Create a folder to contain the program (I recommend C:\Program Files\DigiTVTimer, but it can be anywhere)
2. Place the program (DigiTVTimer.exe) into this folder.
3. Edit the registry (OK – I am sorry about this, but it is important that the program starts before any other programs, so it can successfully intercept shut down requests. If you don’t want to perform this step, the program will remain functional, but trapping of shut down requests may cause issues)
Edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and create a new String Value, called DigiTVTimer, with the value of the complete path of the executable (e.g. C:\Program Files\DigiTVTimer\DigiTVTimer.exe)
4. Restart your computer.
Cut & paste from Maxx's excellent instructions |

Sorry for the delay in a response - don't get here as much as I used to.
No problem with a password unless you use the restart option - but I think that's what you need to use for resetting teh USB devices
The reboot option does just what it says - so you will need to re log in - only option is to remove the password so it logs in autmoatically - there's nothing DigiTVTimer could do about it, unfortunately. |

2 years between the questionand the answer - is that a record?
Incidentally you only need to do the registry thing if you need DigiTVTimer to intercept your shutdowns, as you need it to be the first program so it can try to intercept the shutdown mesages before other programs.
Unfortunately XP is stupid - XP sends a message to all programs asking if it is OK to shut down. If it gets a negative response, it stops shutting down. Sounds OK so far - but it doesn't wait to get a response from programs before starting to shut down - so if DigiTVTimer is not the first program to receove the message, otehr programs might have been asked to terminate befoe DigiTVTimer gets a chance to tell XP to not shut down. |

Thanks Maxx
Very reluctant to delete my pass word. What is to stop other people viewing my computer? Yes I'm behind a firewall & a router firewall & virus protection, but still.
Bill has suggested
"Have you tried different BIOS suspend settings and wake up settings (my MSI board has a setting for USB resume for instance) or an external powered USB hub, to get over the hibernate issue?"
This is to try & cure the non survival of the master USB unit of DigiTV after hibernate. Which I would like to try but now I discover that their is a problem with Dell E520s & accessing the bios. We used to be able to get to the bios settings but not now, hmph! |
